As cloud native architecture and deployments of microservices based systems are more widely adopted, the challenges of ensuring correct functioning of the system as a whole grow significantly. Due to the distributed nature it is hard to deterministically bring systems into predefined states in order to make assertions on the behaviour. For developers wanting to make changes fast and reliable feedback into what effect their work has is a must to mitigate risk while keeping high levels of productivity.

In this talk Justin Carter will introduce delmo, an open source testing framework created to give developers of containerized distributed systems a tool to declaratively manipulate the state and run assertions that can be integrated into their workflow to gain fast feedback on the effects that their changes have.
